Waterford Walks & Trails

Déise Greenway

Waterford City & County Council have developed the old Waterford to Dungarvan railway line into a World Class Greenway. 23kms from Dungarvan to Kilmacthomas are now open with the remaining 22kms from Kilmacthomas to Waterford City opening in March 2017. It is a fabulous walk or cycle track, with stunning views along the way. Definately one of Ireland’s hidden gems. A must see for anyone travelling to Waterford.

The Copper Coast

The Copper Coast Drive embraces the panoramic seascapes, cliffs, bays and coves between Dungarvan and the major seaside resort of Tramore as well as more intimate Seaside Resorts with Blue Flag Beaches, Clonea and Bunmahon. It passes through the villages of Bunmahon, Boatstrand, Dunhill, Annestown and Fenor. Finally, you will arrive at the popular seaside resort of Tramore.  The area has a wealth of beautiful yet “undiscovered” secluded coves and beaches, each with a story to tell. It took more than 460 million years to create the Copper Coast, so take your time to visit and explore it!

Dunmore East Coastal Walk

Just opened! A cliff/coastal walk between Dunmore East Village and Portally Cove Waterford that takes about half an hour one way. It is well defined and although is a cliff walk does not have too many pieces very close to the edge. You can enjoy a coffee and the views afterwards in the pictureque seaside village of Dunmore East, one of our favourite places in Waterford!
